An Analysis of Influence of Traffic Infrastructure Construction in Xinjiang on Regional Economic Growth ——Based on“the Silk Road Economic Belt”

Abstract: Traffic Infrastructure Construction and economic development complement each other. This paper, employing co-integration theory and error correction model, analyzes the relationship between traffic infrastructure construction and economic growth in Xinjiang from 1995 to 2015. The results show that there is a long-term co-integration relationship between the traffic infrastructure construction and the regional economic development in Xinjiang, And In the long run, the railway construction plays a most significant role in promoting the regional economy, followed by the highway; In the short term, The aviation construction plays a negative role in promoting the regional economy, It mainly due to the high cost and long cycle of the aviation construction.
